We're Back!

We had a great trip to Arlington. My Dad and uncle really enjoyed seeing their sister (my aunt). All 4 of them were 80 and over with my Dad being the oldest at 88, to be 89 in October. Unbelivable that all my Dad's brothers and sisters are still living. He is the oldest and the youngest is a sister who is 73.
While we were there my cousin Donna and I took our aunt out for lunch Wednesday and just had a great time. Although she is beginning to get frail and has had a stroke, she STILL has a wonderful sense of humor and a great outlook on being older (83). We, the nieces, hope we can have that kind of sense of humor when we are older. OK, we are older but not as old as they are!!
While we were there, the brush fires were going west of Fort Worth. The sky was gray with smoke and it smelled like something was burning. It's amazing how far it all travels.
It's Easter!! Thank you Jesus for what you did for ME!

  1. Amen, Sister!
What a blessing that you and Donna had the privilege of that visit with your Dad and his relatives. Proverbs 10:1a; Prov. 20:7. We can learn many things by "hanging out" for awhile with those "older" folks, can't we?.Prov.16:31. And, if our husbands permit us to live that long, one day WE'LL be in their place, with our own children accompanying us on such visits! Prov. 17:6

P.S. Can you tell I've been reading Proverbs???
    Good stuff in there.
